Eat Healthy or It’s a Problem!

I did some research on an current event that has been a bother to me for a while. The topic of my piece on a current event is “Bad eating habits from teenagers”. I choose this topic because I think that everybody, especially teenagers, should consider that eating healthy is important. According to the article I linked above, some important facts about what could happen are:

  • Bad eating habits are linked to teen lung problems
  • Lacking in fruits and fish may cause issues such as asthma
  • Many studies have connected unhealthy eating habits with lung problems

Teenagers who do not get enough of the nutrients commonly found in fruits and fish are developing lung problems, asthma, coughing and wheezing. I learned that teenagers who had low interest in fruits with vitamin C had weaker lungs(vitamin C). To add to that, teenagers who have less of vitamin E from vegetables, oils, and nuts had asthma attacks (fruits and vegetables).

I would like for people to understand that when you’re not healthy, you’re not in good condition. I am in my teenage years and I will also like to say that I am not in a good position myself. I have anemia because I don’t have enough vitamins to gain energy. I stay cold because I caused myself to have low blood and my docter always tells me that it gets worst each day. I feel like a dead body walking each day even if it’s hot out! This situation makes me afraid because I’m still young and have a whole life to live. Thats why I’m trying to pass the word and tell other peers that this is not a joke because anything can happen.

As a people, we have become obsessed with Health.  There is something fundamentally, radically unhealthy about all this.  We do not seem to be seeking more exuberance in living as much as staving off failure, putting off dying.  We have lost all confidence in the human body.  ~Lewis Thomas, The Medusa and the Snail, 1979
